Mobile consumer electronic items like tablets, eBooks, smartphones, MP3 players, digital cameras, and USB drives, just to name a few, are growing in both demand and the number of companies supplying them. These items have to be small enough to be convenient to carry around and thin enough to take up as little space as possible. In order to do so, the programming IC chips used to program and operate these devices have to be equivalently small and thin as well. The one thing that all of these devices and many like them have in common is the fact that they all use a form of flash memory chips such as the eMMC chips. These chips are small enough to fit in a device as small as a cell phone, but yet have enough capacity to contain a large amount of data for the device’s operating systems.
